Don't waste your time on a boring chicken sandwich. Enjoy a fabulous, easy grilled Hawaiian chicken sandwich instead.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves, pounded to an even thickness
- Hawaiian marinade OR favorite BBQ sauce
- 4 sandwich rolls or hamburger buns, your choice of kind
- smoked gouda, cheddar, provolone or mozzarella, thinly sliced
- fresh pineapple, thinly sliced
- lettuce
- tomato, thinly sliced
- red onion, thinly sliced
- bacon, cooked until crisp, optional
- mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, or honey-mustard
- Hawaiian Marinade:
- 3 T. soy sauce
- 3 T. brown sugar
- 2 T. rice vinegar
- 1 T. sesame oil
- 1 t. fresh minced ginger
- 1 t. fresh minced garlic
- cooking spray
Steps
- Marinade:
- Whisk to combine marinade ingredients in a small bowl. Place chicken in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the chicken. Marinate in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat outdoor or indoor grill to medium-high heat. Discard the marinade, if using or brush chicken with BBQ sauce. Lightly grease grill with cooking spray.
