Description
Make your chicken taste like fried but made healthier in the oven. This recipe provides a crispy crust that is just as good as fried!
Ingredients
- 1 chicken, cut up into pieces
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 t. garlic pepper
- 1 t. sugar
- 2 t. paprika
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. baking powder
- 3/4 t. baking soda
- olive oil
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a baking pan, whisk together flour, garlic pepper, sugar and paprika. In a medium size bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, baking powder and baking soda until smooth.
- Dip each piece of chicken into buttermilk mixture, shaking off the excess. Roll in the flour mixture and then dip back into the buttermilk and flour mixture a second time. Place in abaking pan and drizzle with olive oil.
