Next time you have a cookout, bump up those hot dogs with this recipe. Even people who aren't crazy about hot dogs will love these.
1 package hot dogs, beef or pork
4 slices of your favorite cheese, cut in half
8 slices of bacon
mustard, your favorite
your preference of other condiments, onions, relish, ketchup, sauerkraut
8 buns
Cut hot dogs almost in half the long way, but not all the way through.
Lay it open; add the cheese and mustard, or any other condiments of your choosing.
Wrap each hot dog with 1 slice of bacon.
Secure the bacon on the side of a hot dog with wet toothpicks.
Grill using indirect heat (not over the heat source, but to the side) at about 350 degrees for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the bacon is fully cooked.
Cool about 10 minutes; remove the toothpicks.
Serve with condiments of choice.
