This sandwich is great for breakfast, but it makes a great lunch or dinner, as well. If you are serving company, and you want to do something different from the same boring breakfast casserole, then make this dish!
1 c. cubed cooked ham
1 c. shredded Swiss cheese (4 oz.) or your favorite cheese
1/2 c. finely chopped peeled apple
12 oz. can Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Jr. Golden Layers® refrigerated biscuits
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 t. water
chopped tomato, if desired
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
Gently mix ham, Swiss cheese and apple in a small bowl.
Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Press or roll 5 biscuits into 4 inch circles on a cookie sheet.
Place about 1/2 cup ham mixture onto center of each circle. Press or roll remaining 5 biscuits into the 5 inch circles; place over ham mixture on each biscuit. Press edges with fork to seal. Mix egg and water; brush over the filled biscuits.
Bake 13 -18 minutes or until golden brown.
Cut each sandwich in half. To serve, garnish with tomato, if desired. Serve warm.
