This dish makes a wonderful breakfast or brunch, but you could enjoy it anytime that you wish.
14 to 16 slices of bread from 1-2 bakery loaves
4 eggs
14 - 16 slices tomatoes
14 - 16 slices ham
14 - 16 slices cheese
4 oz. butter
1/2 c. milk
salt and pepper, to taste
grated cheese, your choice
parsley leaves, for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a deep, circular baking pan with butter.
Apply a light coating of butter on each slice of bread; place the bread in the baking pan standing up with gaps in between each slice.
Wash the tomatoes; cut them into thin circles. Cut ham into slices.
Put a slice of tomato and one of ham between the slices of bread.
Beat the eggs with milk, salt and pepper. Pour beaten eggs on top of the bread. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Bake until the cobbler gets a nice crisp golden color. Garnish with parsley leaves.
