Just about everyone enjoys spaghetti. How about changing it up a little by making spaghetti pie with a meat sauce? Serve with garlic bread/toast and a side salad.
Ingredients
- 12 oz. spaghetti, cooked
- ½ c. of the pasta cooking water, reserved before draining the pasta
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 lb. ground turkey or groud sirloin beef
- 1 c. tomato paste, divided
- 3 large eggs
- 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1½ c. shredded Mozzarella
- 2 T. olive oil
- salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook spaghetti in well salted water according to package directions. Set aside 1/2 cup of the cooking water before draining.
- In a large skillet, saute onions until soft. Add ground meat, and ¾ cup tomato paste. Add half of the reserved pasta water; stir well. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Consistency should be like a thick Bolognese sauce. Add more cooking water, if needed.
