This is a fantastic recipe for you when you want a comforting and satisfying meal that is easy to make. The trick to getting the dumplings is DO NOT STIR!
2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded (rotisserie chicken is fine)
2 c. chicken broth/stock
½ stick butter
2 c. Bisquick
2 c. whole milk
1 can cream chicken soup
3 t. chicken granules
½ t. dried sage
1 t. black pepper
½ t. salt or to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a 9 x 13 casserole dish, melt 1/2 stick butter. Spread the shredded chicken over the butter; sprinkle black pepper and dried sage over this layer. Do not stir.
In small bowl, mix milk and Bisquick; slowly pour all over chicken. Do not stir.
In medium bowl, whisk together chicken broth, chicken granules and soup. When blended, slowly pour over the Bisquick layer. Do not stir.
Bake casserole 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
