Description
The weather is getting colder and it's time to start making soup again. You will be happy eating this delicious and tasty soup. Serve with crusty bread and a salad.
Ingredients
1 large onion, chopped
2 T. butter
10 c. water
6 c. chopped cabbage
4 c. peeled and cubed potatoes
2- 3 T. chicken bouillon granules
1/2 t. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 t. dried minced garlic
4 c. cubed fully cooked ham (leftovers are great)

In a large pot or Dutch oven that will hold 3 1/2 quarts, saute onion in butter until tender.
Wash, peel and cube potatoes.
Add the water, cabbage, potatoes, bouillon, pepper and garlic.
Cover; simmer 20-25 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Stir in ham; heat through.
Makes 12-14 servings.
** Carrots would be a great addition to this recipe.
