This meal is so simple to make. The sirloin tips turn out tender and the gravy has a delicious flavor. Serve with noodles, rice or mashed potatoes.
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
4 lb. beef sirloin tips
1/2 c. chopped green onions
1/2 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms, cleaned
10.5 oz. condensed beef broth or stock
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
2 t. tomato paste or ketchup
1/4 c. dry red wine or water
3 T. all-purpose flour
hot buttered egg noodles
Line a crock-pot with a crock-pot liner for easy clean up.
Combine the flour with the salt and pepper; toss with beef cubes to coat thoroughly. Place in the crock-pot; add green onions and drained mushrooms.
Combine beef broth/stock, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste or ketchup. Pour over beef and veggies; stir well.
Cover; cook on LOW setting for 7 - 12 hours.
One hour before serving, turn crock-pot to HIGH setting.
Make a smooth paste of red wine and 3 T. flour; stir into crock-pot, mixing well. Cover; cook until thickened.
Serve over hot buttered egg noodles, or if you prefer over rice or with mashed potatoes.
