These tasty meatballs would be great with spaghetti or egg noodles, on a sandwich or all by themselves.
1 lb. lean ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 c. Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 c. onion, finely chopped or grated with juices
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. black pepper
sauce:
12 oz. light-colored beer, such as lager
1 1/2 c. tomato sauce
1 c. ketchup
2 T. tomato paste
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line the broiler pan with foil and spray rack with non-stick cooking spray.
Combine all meatball ingredients together in a large bowl; shape into 1 inch meatballs.
Place meatballs on the lined broiling rack. Bake 10 minutes or until browned.
Combine all sauce ingredients together in a large pot or Dutch oven; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Add meatballs and reduce heat.
Cover; simmer 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
