Description

When it is cold outside, you need a yummy, warm and hearty meal in the slow cooker. It's nice to come home to a delicious dinner when you have been busy and just want a comforting dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams, with juice
  • 1/2 lb. salt pork or bacon, diced
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 6 - 8 medium potatoes, washed, peeled and cubed
  • 3 c. water
  • 3 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. pepper
  • 1 1/2 t. dried marjoram
  • 1/2 t. dried thyme
  • 4 c. half and half cream or milk, divided
  • 3 - 4 T. cornstarch
  • chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Steps

  1. Cut clams into bite-sized pieces, if necessary.
  2. Line a slow cooker with a slow cooker liner for easy clean up.
  3. In a skillet, saute salt pork or bacon and onion until golden brown; drain.
