Description
This is an economical dish to prepare for your family. Whether you are on a tight budget or not, everyone will enjoy this delicious one pot meal.
Ingredients
- 1 T. olive oil
- 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 large Vidalia onion, chopped
- 1 red or green bell pepper, washed, seeded and chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 c. water
- 29 oz. can tomato sauce
- 2 (14.5 oz.) cans fire roasted tomatoes or regular tomatoes
- 2 t. dried basil
- 2 t. dried oregano
- 1 t. garlic powder
- 2 cups favorite pasta
- kosher salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- fresh chopped parsely, to taste
Steps
- Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground beef; brown 10 minutes, breaking up while stirring. Add onion; continue to cook, while stirring, until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients, except the pasta; cover and simmer 20 minutes.
- Stir in pasta, cover with the lid, and simmer 30 minutes.
