The whole family, even the kids will love this casserole. It's just like a cheeseburger, with the hamburger, cheese, bun and a side of fries, but all in one dish. Add your favorite pickles and some bacon for even more great flavor!
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 c. Velveeta cheese
¾ c. milk
1 T. ketchup
1 T. instant onion or 3 T. minced or grated fresh onion
1 pkg. large buttermilk biscuits
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
2 c. frozen tater tots, Ore Ida Crispy Crowns or french fries
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray a 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
Cut biscuits into quarters, then spread them evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Brown ground beef in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat; drain fat from skillet. Lower heat to low; add Velveeta cheese, milk, ketchup and onion, stirring frequently until cheese is melted. If wanting more sauce, add another ¼ c. milk.
Top biscuits with meat and cheese sauce mixture. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar over the meat.
Top with tater tots, spreading them out until they almost cover the top.
Bake 20-30 minutes, or until potatoes are crispy and biscuits are cooked through.
