Enjoy the taste of two great sandwiches in one! The wonderful Philly cheesesteak sandwich mixed with sloppy joes make a great delicious new sandwich!
Ingredients
- 1 T. olive oil
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 3 T. steak sauce
- 1⁄2 c. beef broth
- salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
- 4 large hamburger buns
- 1 T. butter, for toasting buns
- cheese sauce (recipe below) or provolone cheese (sliced) or Cheez Whiz
- Cheese Sauce:
- 1 T. butter
- 1 T. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. Provolone cheese, shredded
Steps
- Add oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef; cook 5-6 minutes or until no longer pink. Add onion and bell pepper; cook 2-3 minutes or until crisp tender. Drain off any fat. Stir in the steak sauce, beef broth and Worcestershire. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until liquid is gone.
- Butter the cut sides of the buns; toast the buttered sides in a hot skillet on medium-high heat. Set aside.
