30 minutes is all it takes to make a simple but delicious meal for your family. It is satisfying and comforting, with sausage, tomatoes, cream and your favorite pasta.
1 lb. ground Italian sausage
¾ lb. uncooked spaghetti, angel hair or your favorite pasta
28 oz. crushed tomatoes with basil, undrained
32 oz. chicken or vegetable stock/broth
1/2 c. whipping cream
1/4 t. crushed red pepper flakes, if desired
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
grated or shredded Parmesan cheese
fresh chopped basil leaves, if desired
In an 8 quart stockpot, cook sausage until no longer pink; discard grease.
Add spaghetti, tomatoes, stock/broth, cream, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper, to taste; heat to boiling. Boil 15 - 20 minutes, stirring pasta frequently, until pasta is cooked and sauce is thick and creamy. Time could vary, according to the pasta that is chosen.
Serve with Parmesan cheese and chopped basil leaves, if desired.
