Description
This is a wonderful clam chowder for the crockpot. It's easy and great tasting. Serve it with your choice of crackers, French bread or better yet, serve it in a sourdough bread bowl!
Ingredients
- 4 - 6 1/2 oz. cans minced clams, with juice
- 1/2 lb. salt pork or bacon, diced
- 1 c. onion
- 6 - 8 medium potatoes
- 3 c. water
- 3 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 4 c. heavy cream, half and half cream or milk
- 3 - 4 T. cornstarch (omit if using heavy cream)
- chopped fresh parsley or green onion, for garnish
Steps
- Wash potatoes, peel (if desired) and cube. Peel and chop onion.
- Line a crockpot with a crockpot liner for easy clean up.
- Cut clams into bite-sized pieces.
