Crockpot Clam Chowder

Description

This is a wonderful clam chowder for the crockpot. It's easy and great tasting. Serve it with your choice of crackers, French bread or better yet, serve it in a sourdough bread bowl!

Ingredients

  • 4 - 6 1/2 oz. cans minced clams, with juice
  • 1/2 lb. salt pork or bacon, diced
  • 1 c. onion
  • 6 - 8 medium potatoes
  • 3 c. water
  • 3 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 c. heavy cream, half and half cream or milk
  • 3 - 4 T. cornstarch (omit if using heavy cream)
  • chopped fresh parsley or green onion, for garnish

Steps

  1. Wash potatoes, peel (if desired) and cube. Peel and chop onion.
  2. Line a crockpot with a crockpot liner for easy clean up.
  3. Cut clams into bite-sized pieces.
