Description
Don't serve boring meatballs. Instead serve these delicious meatballs made with ground beef, bacon, and breadcrumbs then served in a wonderful sauce of BBQ sauce and bourbon. Serve as an appetizer, with your favorite pasta or on a sandwich bun.
Ingredients
- 6 bacon slices
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1 lb. lean ground beef, ground beef and ground pork mix, ground turkey or your choice
- 1/2 c. breadcrumbs
- 2 T. freshly chopped parsley
- 1 large egg
- 1 t. chili powder
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 t. pepper
- 1 T. vegetable oil
- 1 c. BBQ sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- 3 T. bourbon
Steps
- Place the uncooked bacon into a food processor; process for about 1 minute or until bacon is finely ground up. Add in the onion; process until onion is finely chopped and mixed in.
- Spoon bacon/onion mixture into a large bowl; add ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, egg, chili powder, and salt, pepper; stir to combine.
- Scoop out meat mixture and roll into balls, making about 24- 1 inch meatballs.
