Description
Take your old favorite mac and cheese to a higher level with smoked Gouda cheese. It's just as easy to make, but so much better tasting.
Ingredients
- 2 rounded c. dry macaroni
- 2 T. unsalted butter
- 2 T. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. whole milk
- salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 c. grated smoked Gouda cheese, + more for topping
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook macaroni in well salted boiling water until just al dente, about 7-8 minutes; drain.
- Melt butter in a pan; add flour; whisk to combine, and cook about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add milk; whisk to combine; continue to heat until milk comes to a simmer and is thickened.
