Description
When company comes, you want to make a dish that is good but easy and this one fits the bill. It isn't beautiful or fussy, just down right delicious. Serve with a salad and garlic toast.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. dry penne pasta, ziti, egg noodles or favorite pasta
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/4 c. diced onion
- 1/4 c. diced green bell pepper
- 16 oz. tomato sauce
- salt and pepper, to taste
- garlic powder, to taste
- Italian seasoning, to taste
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 c. sour cream
- 1/2 c. sliced green onions
- 1/2 c. finely shredded Italian cheese blend or Mozzarella cheese
- freshly chopped parsley, for garnish
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 2 quart casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cook pasta according the package directions in well salted boiling water. Drain.
- While pasta is cooking; brown and stir ground beef, onion and bell pepper until the meat is no longer pink; discard any grease; add tomato sauce and pasta to the meat mixture; add seasonings, to taste; stir.
