Description
Make a healthier meatloaf from ground chicken or turkey instead of beef. It's a great alternative and is just as delicious. Serve with your favorite sides.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground chicken or turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. breadcrumbs or panko
- 1/2 t. dried basil
- 1/2 t. dried thyme
- 1/2 t. dried oregano
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1/2 t. kosher salt
- 1/4 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 c. pasta sauce
- 1/2 c. shredded Italian cheese blend
- 2 T. chopped parsley, for garnish
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a loaf pan with cooking spray; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, thyme, oregano, basil, garlic, onion, salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese. Don't over mix the mixture or it will get tough.
- Place the mixture in the prepared loaf pan and form into a loaf; top meatloaf with pasta sauce.
