Make a beautiful, sumptuous pork loin that is stuffed with apple slices, and is then cooked with onion, pats of butter, wonderfully seasoned with salt, pepper, thyme and cinnamon and then drizzled with honey. It turns out tender, juicy and is cooked until
Ingredients
- 3-4 lb. center cut pork loin
- 2 Granny Smith apples, sliced and divided
- 1 white onion, sliced
- ½ c. butter, sliced into pats
- ¼ t. salt
- ¼ t. black pepper
- ½ t. ground cinnamon
- ¼ c. honey
- ½ t. dried thyme or a few sprigs of fresh thyme
Steps
- Place pork loin on a cutting board; cut slits on the top of the pork loin about an inch down. Place apple slices into the slits; set aside.
- Place a slow cooker liner in a 6 quart slow cooker for easy clean up.
- Distribute onions and remaining apple slices down in the slow cooker; lay over the slices of butter (for more flavor). Add the pork loin; sprinkle pork with salt, pepper and cinnamon; add thyme; drizzle on the honey.
