This delicious meal is not just for the kiddos, adults will enjoy it too. It's great for gatherings of any kind, birthday or game day parties, or just for a weeknight dinner.
8 hot dogs, choice of pork, beef, turkey or vegan
8 American or other cheese or 3/4 c. shredded cheese of choice
1 can refrigerated crescent dough sheet
2 - 15.5 oz. canned chili
3 T. butter, melted
1 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
freshly chopped parsley, for garnish
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Spread chili across the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan.
Rinse hot dogs; pat dry.
Open crescent dough can; roll out dough; cut dough into 8 equal pieces.
Roll 1 cheese slice around 1 hot dog; roll 1 crescent dough square around the cheese and hot dog. Repeat for remaining hot dogs. Gently press down the seams of the crescent dough.
Melt butter; add minced garlic. Place hot dogs in pan; brush top of dough with the garlic butter. Set aside remaining garlic butter.
Cover with foil; bake about 25 minutes. Remove foil; continue baking for about 15 minutes or until tops of dough are golden brown.
Brush remaining garlic butter on tops of dough; top with parsley. Serve.
