Filipino Style Spaghetti doesn't use fancy ingredients, so it can be made easily at home. It's made with sweet tomato sauce, hotdogs, ground pork and minced ham, all of which give this dish its distinct flavor. The Velveeta cheese on top finishes it off
2 lb. spaghetti
2 T. cooking oil
2 t. minced garlic
1 medium yellow onion, minced
1 lb. minced ham
1½ lb. ground pork
3 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 c. beef broth
6 - 8 pieces red hotdogs, sliced diagonally
½ c. tomato paste
½ c. granulated white sugar
salt and pepper, to taste
1 c. shredded Velveeta cheese
Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions; drain; set aside.
Heat oil in a cooking pot; saute garlic and onion; add the ham; cook for 3 minutes. Add the ground pork; cook for 3 - 5 minutes. Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth; stir; bring to a boil. Simmer for 1 hour.
Add the hotdogs and tomato paste; stir; cook for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Sprinkle in the sugar, salt and pepper; stir until the ingredients are well incorporated.
Arrange spaghetti on individual plates; pour the meat sauce over the pasta; top with shredded Velveeta cheese.
Serve.
