Make this simple but good casserole on those busy weeknights when time is short. It's just like a cheeseburger, but in a casserole.
non-stick cooking spray
1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef, 7% fat (or ground turkey or chicken)
3/4 c. pre-diced yellow onion
2 T. flour
1/2 t. Worcestershire pub-style burger seasoning, or steak seasoning
about one half of a 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 c. Russian or Thousand Island dressing
3 T. dill relish
8-count can buttermilk biscuits, each biscuit cut into quarters
1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat 13 x 9 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Preheat a large sauté pan on medium-high for 2–3 minutes. Cook beef and onions 5–7 minutes, stirring to crumble, until no longer pink; drain off and discard grease.
Return beef to pan. Stir in flour, seasoning, tomatoes, dressing and relish; cook until hot and sauce has thickened. Pour beef mixture into the prepared dish.
Top beef mixture with biscuits and then cheese.
Bake 15–18 minutes or until biscuits are golden and cheese has melted.
Serve.
