Making a juicy turkey burger isn't difficult, and since turkey is such a lean meat, it dries out easily. The trick to making it juicy is to add a healthy oil to the meat and don't cook the burgers for too long. That's it.
1 lb. ground turkey or chicken
1 - 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
½ t. salt
¼ t. pepper
Heat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat, 400-450 degrees. Make sure the grate is clean and well oiled so the meat doesn't stick.
In a mixing bowl, gently knead together the turkey, oil, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. DO NOT overwork the meat.
Form meat into 4 patties, each about ¼ - ½ inch thick. Press your thumb down in the middle to indent it slightly.
Cook on the pre-heated grill until burgers reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees, flipping 1/2 way through.
Let rest 5 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Serve with your favorite buns, tomato, lettuce, onion and condiments.
Makes 4 burgers.
