Warmer weather is the perfect time to use your slow cooker since you don't want to heat up your kitchen. Try these excellent pulled chicken sandwiches that are cooker in a BBQ rub and root beer. Serve them on your favorite buns and topped with pickles of
1 pouch KC Original Masterpiece BBQ Sauce Mix and Dry Rub
¾ c. root beer
2 - 2½ lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
½ medium onion, chopped
sliced pickles, for serving
8-10 hamburger buns, for serving
In a small bowl, mix together KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce Mix and root beer, blending until smooth; set aside.
Place a slow cooker liner into the crock of a slow cooker for easy clean up. Put chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker; evenly pour sauce/root beer over the tops of the chicken; cover.
Set cooker to high heat; cook for 3-4 hours until chicken is cooked though.
Carefully remove chicken from crockpot to a cutting board; shred with 2 forks. Return chicken to crockpot along with the chopped onion; stir; cover; cook 30 minutes.
Scoop the chicken onto hamburger buns. Garnish with sliced pickles.
8-10 servings.
