Description
Start your day with a healthy breakfast of steel cut oatmeal. It's sweetened with cinnamon and honey making everyone happy. You could also try nutmeg, ginger, cardamon or even cloves.
Ingredients
- 1 c. steel-cut oats*
- 1 c. milk
- 2 c. water
- 1/4 t. kosher salt
- 1/2 t. ground cinnamon
- 2 t. honey
- desired toppings: fresh fruit, sliced almonds, raisins, chia seeds, or nut butter
Steps
- Combine oats, milk, water, salt and cinnamon in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 15 - 20 minutes until desired thickness, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; let cool slightly.
- Divide equally between 4 bowls; drizzle each serving with 1/2 t. honey, adding additional desired toppings.
- Serve.
