Come home to a delicious home cooked meal that was made in your slow cooker. The popular loose meat sandwich comes from a famous restaurant and now you can make it at home. It's perfectly seasoned ground beef that's served on a warm bun with your favorite
1 c. warm water
1 T. dried minced onion
1 t. low-sodium beef base (or a beef bouillon cube)
1 t. low-sodium chicken base (or a chicken bouillon cube)
2 T. packed light brown sugar
2 T. apple cider vinegar
1 T. low-sodium soy sauce
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
3 lb. lean ground beef, raw
8-12 hamburger buns
Optional toppings: cheese, ketchup, pickles, onions, mustard
Place a slow cooker liner in the base of the slow cooker for easy clean up.
Add all ingredients except for ground beef and toppings; carefully stir. Set slow cooker to High. Add beef; carefully stir until beef is completely coated. Cover; cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to break up ground beef.
Uncover after 1 hour of cook time; continue cooking on High for 2 ½ - 3 hours, uncovered, until most of the liquid has cooked off. Continue to stir occasionally, breaking up any beef chunks.
Using a slotted spoon, place a heaping spoonful on a warm or toasted bun, then load it up with your favorite toppings.
Serve.
