Quiche is one of those meals that is versatile and can be served for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Just change up side dishes to suit the meal. It's light and fluffy and really simple to make.
9 inch frozen deep dish pie crust
8 oz. sausage, like Jimmy Dean or Tennessee Pride or other breakfast sausage
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
3 eggs
1 c. heavy cream or milk
dash freshly ground black pepper
2 T. sour cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a skillet, cook sausage until it's no longer pink; drain/discard fat. Combine cooked sausage; cream cheese. Drop crumbles of sausage mixture into the bottom of the pie crust; top with shredded cheese.
Whisk together eggs, heavy cream, pepper and sour cream. Pour egg mixture over sausage and cheese mixture in the pie crust.
Bake 1 hour.
Allow quiche to rest for 5-10 minutes. Serve.
6-8 servings.
