You and your family will love this cubed steak with gravy. You'll love it for how easy it is to prepare and the few inexpensive ingredients that are needed, and they will love it because of the delicious, tender cubed steak and the yummy, creamy gravy.
1 packet au jus gravy mix
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can French onion soup
1/2 c. water
1 1/2 - 2 lb. cube steak
Gravy Thickener:
3 T. cornstarch
3 T. cold water
In a 6 quart crock pot, combine cream of chicken and French Onion soups, packet of au jus gravy mix and water; stir well. Place cubed steak in with gravy mixture. Cover; cook on Low for 6-8 hours.
When finished cooking, thicken gravy. In a small bowl or mug, whisk/stir together cornstarch and cold water until no lumps remain; stir into crock pot. Turn to High; cook for 30 minutes or until gravy is thickened.
Serve with mashed potatoes, egg noodles or rice.
4 servings.
*If desired, brown the cube steak for a few minutes before placing in the crock pot, adding in any little bits that there might be in the skillet.
