Serve your family or guests a truly juicy, decadent burger. It can be fried on the stovetop or made on the grill and then topped with sauteed onions, crispy fried bacon, gooey cheese and a runny fried egg.
Ingredients
- Sautéed Onions:
- 1 T. olive oil
- 1 large red onion, halved and thinly sliced into half moons
- 2 t. light brown sugar, packed
- 1 t. kosher salt
- 2 t. apple cider vinegar
- Burgers:
- 1 1/2 lb. 80/20 ground beef
- 1 1/2 t. kosher salt
- 1/2 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 1 t. garlic powder
- 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
- Toppings:
- Swiss or Cheddar cheese
- sautéed onions
- 8 strips crispy fried bacon
- 4 fried eggs with soft yolks
- bottled or homemade ketchup
- 4 soft buns
Steps
- Sautéed Onions:
- Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until hot, but not smoking; add onions; cook until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes; add sugar, salt and vinegar; stir to combine; cook until onions are very soft and begin to brown, about 10 more minutes.
