Description

Serve your family or guests a truly juicy, decadent burger. It can be fried on the stovetop or made on the grill and then topped with sauteed onions, crispy fried bacon, gooey cheese and a runny fried egg.

Ingredients

  • Sautéed Onions:
  • 1 T. olive oil
  • 1 large red onion, halved and thinly sliced into half moons
  • 2 t. light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 t. kosher salt
  • 2 t. apple cider vinegar
  • Burgers:
  • 1 1/2 lb. 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 1/2 t. kosher salt
  • 1/2 t. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 t. garlic powder
  • 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
  • Toppings:
  • Swiss or Cheddar cheese
  • sautéed onions
  • 8 strips crispy fried bacon
  • 4 fried eggs with soft yolks
  • bottled or homemade ketchup
  • 4 soft buns

  2. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until hot, but not smoking; add onions; cook until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes; add sugar, salt and vinegar; stir to combine; cook until onions are very soft and begin to brown, about 10 more minutes.
