Everyone will give this dish a thumbs up. It's tasty, satisfying and comforting. Add mushrooms or more broccoli or other favorite ingredients, if you wish.
2 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, diced
10 oz. frozen broccoli florets
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. heavy cream
1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 t. garlic powder
salt and black pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a large 2 1/2 qt. or larger casserole dish with cooking spray.
In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; season with salt and pepper; discard fat.
Meanwhile, cook broccoli until just tender-crisp; drain well; season with salt and pepper.
Place cream cheese in a microwaveable bowl; microwave on High about 45 seconds until soft; whisk until creamy and smooth. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream until smooth; stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.
Mix the hamburger and broccoli in the prepared dish; pour in the cream sauce; mix well; season to taste with salt and pepper.
Bake for about 35-45 minutes, until bubbly and browned on top.
6-8 servings.
