This casserole is an easy, satisfying and delicious meal to make and will get a thumbs up from your family. Feel free to add mushrooms or other additions, if you would like.
2 lb. ground beef
2 1/2 oz. diced onion from 1 small onion
10- 16 oz. frozen broccoli florets
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. heavy cream
1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 t. garlic powder
salt and pepper, to taste
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion; discard excess fat; season with salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, cook broccoli until tender-crisp; drain well; season with salt and pepper.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.
Place cream cheese in a microwaveable bowl; microwave on HIGH about 45 seconds until soft; whisk until creamy and smooth; gradually whisk in heavy cream until smooth; stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.
Mix ground beef and broccoli in the prepared casserole dish; pour in cream sauce; mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bake for about 35-45 minutes, until bubbly and browned on top.
6-8 servings.
