Description
This is an easy, economical and tasty dish to serve to your family. It's ready in about 45 minutes and could be served with potatoes, rice or pasta to take advantage of the wonderful gravy.
Ingredients
- Hamburger:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. breadcrumbs
- ½ -1 t. pepper
- 1 t. salt
- 2 T. minced or grated onion that is grated over a bowl to catch all of the juices
- 1 t. minced garlic
- Mushroom Onion Gravy:
- 2 T. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. beef broth/stock
- ½ c. water
- 2 T. butter
- 1 – 1 ½ c. sliced mushrooms
- 1 c. thinly sliced onion
- 1 t. minced thyme
- 1 T. minced garlic
- 1/2 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 t. Creole seasoning or to taste
Steps
- Hamburger Steaks:
- In a large bowl, add ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, pepper, salt, garlic and grated onion and its juices. Gently combine until fully mixed. Divide into 4 to 6 portions; lightly flatten into patties; set aside.
