These meatballs are easy, delicious and will definitely be a hit as an appetizer or served with spaghetti. They have a nice, crispy crust and a juicy center that is full of wonderful flavor.
1- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
2 t. dried basil
1 t. salt
black pepper, to taste
1/4-1/2 t. crushed red pepper flakes
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1/3 c. milk
1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 c. plain dried bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly spray a 9 x 13 baking pan or baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
Combine all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl; mix just until ingredients are evenly distributed. Shape into 1 - 1 1/2 inch balls, making them all roughly the same size for even cooking.
Bake 25 -30 minutes.
Serve hot.
Makes about 20 meatballs.
*Meatballs can be stored in an airtight container or plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
**If wanting to freeze these meatballs before baking, freeze them on a baking sheet, place them in the freezer until frozen, then transfer them to a ziploc bag and return them to the freezer. They will be good for up to 3 months.
