Do you enjoy Beef Stroganoff, but want something more economical, quicker and easier to make? Make this comforting and satisfying stroganoff with ground beef, mushrooms and onion with a delicious creamy sauce and serve it over your choice of egg noodles,
1 T. olive oil
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 T. all-purpose flour
1 c. beef broth
1 c. whipping cream
1/3 c. sour cream
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 t. salt, or to taste
1/4 t. ground black pepper, or to taste
cooked egg noodles, rice or potatoes, for serving
Heat a heavy, deep pot over medium-high heat with olive oil; add ground beef; break down beef into small pieces; discard any excess grease; add onions and garlic; saute until onion is translucent and golden brown. Add mushrooms; saute for 5 minutes.
Add flour; stir until fully incorporated, stirring in any lumps. Add beef broth, whipping cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer; turn heat to low; simmer for about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat. Add in sour cream; stir; season to taste, if needed.
Serve over cooked egg noodles, rice or potatoes.
