Description
Bring your tuna sandwich up a notch and make it a tuna melt. It's easy and quick to prepare. It starts with slices of French bread, has tuna fish, mayo and mustard, celery, onion, cheese and sliced tomato.
Ingredients
- 4 - 4 oz. cans tuna fish, drained
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1/4 c. celery, finely chopped
- 1/4 c. red onion, finely chopped
- 1 T. Dijon mustard
- 2 T. fresh parsley, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 8 slices French bread
- 16 slices Cheddar cheese, or more if wanting a layer on the bottom
- tomato slices
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
Steps
- In a medium size bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, celery, onion, mustard, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Butter each slice of bread; put the butter side down; place cheese on the unbuttered side; add tuna mixture on top; top with tomato slices and additional cheese.
