This is much like the classic chicken dish that mom used to make but without the mayonnaise, to make it a little lighter and healthier. Once you've made it, it will become a part of your recipe rotation because it's so good, quick and easy to make.
1 c. sour cream
2 t. garlic powder
1 t. seasoned salt
1/2 t. fresh ground black pepper
1 1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
3 lb. boneless chicken breasts, trimmed of excess fat
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly coat a 9 × 13 baking dish with non-stick spray; set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix together sour cream, garlic powder, seasoned salt, black pepper and 1 c. Parmesan cheese.
Place chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Evenly spread sour cream mixture on top of the chicken. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Turn the oven to broil. Place baking dish under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned on top.
Serve immediately.
