Description
With just a little effort and time, you can have a quick but still tasty meal. It's a flavorful pizza with a crispy crust that you'll make many times in the future.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread (or Italian bread)
- 2 T. olive oil
- 1 t. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 t. kosher salt
- 12-16 oz. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 1/2 c. pasta sauce
- 1/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano
- 2 T. fresh Italian parsley, chopped small
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice bread in half lengthwise; cut each half into 3 pieces. If the bread is thicker than about 1 inch, press down on each piece until it’s closer to 1 inch thickness. Place pieces on a large baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine olive oil, Italian seasonings and salt. Brush the sliced portions of each piece with the olive oil mixture; top bread with half of the cheese. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until cheese melts.
