Your family will think that you're baking pizza when you're making this soup. They'll be surprised that it's actually a hearty, delicious soup with lots of Italian flavors, white beans, pasta and hot Italian sausage.
1 lb. ground hot Italian sausage
1 stalk celery, sliced thinly
14 oz. can garlic stewed tomatoes
8 c. beef broth
2 c. cooked white beans or 1 can small white beans, drained
2/3 c. uncooked small shell pasta*
In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat. Discard grease. Add all remaining ingredients except for the pasta.
Bring to a boil; add the pasta shells. When the water boils again, reduce heat; simmer until pasta is tender, about 16-20 minutes.
*This tiny pasta can usually be found in the Hispanic section of most grocery stores. It is often called salad pasta or salad-size pasta.
