This is a delicious, easy main dish for any day of the week. Serve the brats on buns with your favorite sides.
38 oz. Johnsonville Original brats (two 19 oz. packages)
1 large sweet onion, sliced into 1/4" rings, divided
10 garlic cloves, peeled
1/4 t. black pepper
4 T. butter
12 oz. favorite beer
buns and mustard, for serving
Line a 4 quart or larger slow cooker with a slow cooker liner for easy clean up.
Add half of the onion to the slow cooker; add the brats in 2 layers; add remaining onions, garlic and black pepper; place butter on top; pour the beer into the slow cooker.
Cover; cook on Low for 6 hours without removing the cover during the cooking process.
Serve the brats, garlic and onions on buns topped with desired toppings.
