Ham and Cheddar Cheese QuicheRecipe preview on Faxo
Recipe

Description
Although quiche is typically a breakfast dish, it can be enjoyed for any meal.Use leftover ham or buy it from the deli, add a few more ingredients and bake it with a store bought pie crust. What could be easier?
Ingredients
- 1 store bought pie crust, softened as directed on box
- 1 c. diced cooked ham (leftover or deli ham)
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. half-and-half
- 1 1/2 t. chopped fresh thyme leaves (dried is not recommended)
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/8 t. black pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Place pie crust in a 9 inch glass pie plate as directed on box for a one crust filled pie. DO NOT prick crust. Bake 10 minutes. (Pre-baking the crust produces a browner, sturdier bottom to support the filling.) If necessary, use the flat bottom of metal measuring cup to carefully press down on baked pie crust to flatten. Cool 10 minutes.
- Layer ham and 1/2 c. cheese in the bottom of the pie plate.
