You'll get out of this world flavor with this delicious skillet chicken. The chicken is served with a yummy, creamy sauce with mushrooms, bacon and thyme.
4 bone-in chicken thighs or boneless, chicken thighs or breasts
1 T. olive oil
2 t. Italian seasoning
salt and black pepper
Creamy Bacon Mushroom Thyme Sauce:
1 T. olive oil
8 oz. white mushrooms, sliced
6 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
1 c. heavy cream
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. black pepper
1 t. garlic powder
1 T. fresh thyme, stems removed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat a large oven-safe skillet to medium-high heat. Add chicken; season with Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
Pan sear each side of the chicken for 1-2 minutes until brown; transfer skillet to oven; bake 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Transfer chicken to a platter.
Add olive oil to the skillet; sauté mushrooms until soft; add bacon, heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder and thyme. Bring to a simmer until sauce begins to thicken. Add chicken back to the skillet; heat for another minute or until heated through.
Serve immediately.
