Recipe

Description
This pull apart bread is a cross between pizza and garlic bread. It's smothered in so much goodness, it will be devoured in no time as an appetizer or even a main dish.
Ingredients
- 2/3 c. butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed (or 1 T. minced garlic)
- 1 Sourdough or Pane Di Casa Vienna loaf of bread, unsliced
- 1/3 c. pizza sauce
- 1/4 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 large ripe tomato, finely chopped
- 3 1/2 oz. mini pepperoni slices
- fresh basil, finely shredded
- 3/4 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1 T. dried Italian herbs or Italian seasoning
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine the butter and garlic; stir well; set aside.
- Place the bread loaf on a cutting board; use a sharp bread knife to cut the bread diagonally in rows across the top, down to 1-inch above the base in depth, being careful not to cut through to the base of the loaf. Hold the bread firmly over the top to cut through in rows in the other direction to make diamond shaped wedges.
