Crockpot Pork Chops with Apples

Description

These tender and juicy pork chops are so delicious, they make an impressive dish to serve to guests, as well. They are cooked in apple cider or juice, with apples, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Ingredients

4 pork chops, bone-in, center-cut, 1-inch thick
1 T. olive oil
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. kosher salt
1/4 t. ground black pepper
4 Granny Smith apples, washed, unpeeled, cored and quartered
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. apple juice or apple cider
freshly chopped parsley, for serving, optional

Season the pork chops on both sides with the salt and pepper; dredge in the flour; shake off excess.

Add oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chops; fry for about 2 minutes per side or until they're lightly browned. Transfer chops to the crockpot.

Add the apple quarters; sprinkle on brown sugar and cinnamon; add the apple juice.

Cover; cook on High for 4 hours or on Low for 6 hours.

Serve, garnished with chopped parsley and your favorite potatoes.
