Description
Use your slow cooker to make the best beef brisket that you'll ever eat. A few spices that you probably already have, a bit of Liquid Smoke and the brisket make the meat delicious, then assemble the sandwiches with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
- Brisket:
- 3-5 lb. beef brisket
- 2 T. paprika
- 1/2 T. chili powder
- 1/2 t. cumin
- 1/4 t. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 t. garlic powder
- 1/4 t. black pepper
- 2 T. Kosher salt
- 3 T. Liquid Smoke
- Sandwiches:
- sliced smoked Gouda or favorite cheese
- fried onion rings/straws or kettle potato chips
- mayonnaise
- BBQ sauce
- sandwich buns
Steps
- Trim off excess fat; cut the brisket in half width-wise.
- Combine paprika, chili and garlic powders, cumin, cayenne, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl; stir. Rub the spices all sides of the brisket.
- Place half of the brisket on a sheet of aluminum foil. Sprinkle half of the liquid smoke over both sides. Wrap tightly in the foil. Place in a 6 to 8 quart slow cooker. Repeat with the remaining half.
