Description
Use your slow cooker to make the best beef brisket that you'll ever eat. A few spices that you probably already have, a bit of Liquid Smoke and the brisket make the meat delicious, then assemble the sandwiches with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
Brisket:
3-5 lb. beef brisket
2 T. paprika
1/2 T. chili powder
1/2 t. cumin
1/4 t. cayenne pepper
1/4 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. black pepper
2 T. Kosher salt
3 T. Liquid Smoke
Sandwiches:
sliced smoked Gouda or favorite cheese
fried onion rings/straws or kettle potato chips
mayonnaise
BBQ sauce
sandwich buns

Trim off excess fat; cut the brisket in half width-wise.
Combine paprika, chili and garlic powders, cumin, cayenne, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl; stir. Rub the spices all sides of the brisket.
Place half of the brisket on a sheet of aluminum foil. Sprinkle half of the liquid smoke over both sides. Wrap tightly in the foil. Place in a 6 to 8 quart slow cooker. Repeat with the remaining half.
Cook the brisket on Low for 8 - 10 hours or until fork tender.
Sandwiches:
Spread mayonaise on the bottom of a bun, add a layer of meat, a slice of cheese, BBQ sauce and fried onion straws. Add the top half the bun.
Serve.
8-12 sandwiches.
