This classic dish is delicious, satisfying and easy to prepare. It's made with jumbo shells, marinara sauce, seasonings, and 3 different cheeses all baked to perfection.
24 jumbo pasta shells
15 oz. ricotta cheese
3 c. shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
2 t. Italian seasoning
salt and pepper, to taste
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
3 c. marinara sauce, divided
2 T. chopped parsley
cooking spray
Cook the pasta in well salted water according to package directions; set aside.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Spread out 1 1/2 c. marinara sauce in the bottom of the dish.
Place the ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 c. mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, egg, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese in a bowl; stir.
Fill each shell with the cheese mixture; place in the prepared baking dish. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells; sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 c. cheese over the top. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
Bake 20 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil. Bake another 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and starting to turn brown.
Serve garnished with chopped parsley.
