Now this is a deep dish pizza! It's stuffed with seasoned ground beef, onion and optional mushrooms, then topped with two cheeses, pepperoni, sliced tomato and bacon or ham.
Dough:
2 cans pizza dough
1/2 c. tomato sauce, for the the pizza
Giant Hamburger:
1 lb. ground beef
1 t. salt
1/4 t. black pepper
1 T. chopped onion
1/2 t. Italian seasoning
3/4 c. tomato paste
4 oz. sliced canned mushrooms, drained, optional
Toppings:
2 c. Mozzarella cheese
1 c. Cheddar cheese
1 tomato, sliced
pepperoni, as desired
1/2 c. cooked chopped bacon or ham
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a large bowl, mix together all giant hamburger ingredients. Make a giant hamburger patty, 9 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Cook the patty in a large skillet until cooked, juicy but not dry.
Spread one can pizza dough in a greased 9 or 10 inch pie plate to make the bottom crust. Place the cooked giant hamburger on the crust, top with the Cheddar cheese.
Roll out the second can of pizza dough; place on top of the hamburger.
Top with the 1/2 c. tomato sauce, Mozzarella cheese, tomato slices and pepperoni.
Bake 30 - 35 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Sprinkle on the bacon or ham.
Serve immediately.
