Description
This homestyle dish starts with a Bisquick crust and layers of ground beef, fire-roasted tomatoes, green chiles, taco seasoning and cheese and ending with a delicious sour cream mixture.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 10 oz. can fire-roasted diced tomatoes with green chiles
- 4 oz. can diced green chiles
- 1.25 oz. packet taco seasoning
- 2 1/2 c. biscuit mix (Bisquick)
- 1 3/4 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 1 t. garlic powder
- kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Place ground beef, onion and red bell pepper in a large skillet over medium-high heat; cook until beef is browned and veggies are softened. Discard excess grease. Stir in taco seasoning, salt and pepper, to taste.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, 1 c. Cheddar cheese, green chiles and garlic powder.
