Description
This is a delicious, satisfying and easy meal to prepare and a wonderful way to use leftover chicken and ham. It will be a big hit that you'll want to add to your meal rotation.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. penne pasta
- 2 T. unsalted butter
- 2 T. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. milk or heavy cream
- 2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese or Italian blend
- 1 t. Dijon mustard
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 t. garlic powder
- 1/8 t. black pepper
- 1 c. chopped ham
- 2 c. chopped precooked chicken
- Topping:
- 1/2 c. bread crumbs
- 2 T. unsalted butter, melted
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cook penne pasta according to package directions, about 9-11 minutes. Drain.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt 2 T. butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour; when combined, slowly whisk in milk or cream. Cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thickened and bubbly. Add the cheeses, mustard, salt, garlic, and pepper until cheeses are melted. Stir in ham and chicken.
